Welcome to ANIPAC; a mutation of our previous project, Anime Pacific. Were I to equate Anime Pacific to a Roman Emperor, Claudius would be a no-brainer. Much like Claudius, Anime Pacific was well meaning and succesful in what it sought to achieve yet due to several afflictions, not all were willing to embrace it.
ANIPAC aspires to be a semi-regular podcast and blog. You can expect the following topics to be discussed and/or covered:
- Anime
- Hong Kong Cinema (Yes it deserves it’s own catagory as opposed to Asian Cinema!)
- Asian Cinema
- Retro-Gaming
- Tales from Asia
- Discussions about the latest happenings in Asia and to a lesser extent, the rest of the world.
- General geekery with a somewhat personal touch.
For those of you who never listed to Anime Pacific, I’m Dane Scaysbrook; Host and producer of both Anime Pacific and it’s "spawn" ANIPAC. I’ve lived in Hong Kong for almost 8 years (on and off; I didn’t permanantly move here until 2003) and consider myself relatively knowledgable on the topics we’ll discuss here.
My co-host is Alex; He lived in Japan for several years until they finally raised the age of consent above 12. Mortified, he fled to the tundra’s of Canada. A sharp lad of Ukranian origins, Alex’s hobbies include whining about the podcast (in which he doesn’t edit) and lamenting that his strange Ukranian surname sounds like something from a Doctor Seuss book.

Well, I was thinking of comparing ANIPAC to a pair of jiggling breasts, but unfortunately, I couldn’t think of a good way to address it.

Yes, I would have had the episode up earlier but there was a problem with one of the files Alex sent me. Luckily, it’s been corrected so the next show should be up within a few hours.
I’m enjoying the Star Wars show, I just hope we can see more atmosphere as time goes by. A few different planets/worlds as opposed to a “space battle of the week”, but from what I’ve been told there are different “arcs” so I’m sure there’ll be so great stuff there.
And dear DjDrastic, I’m certainly not opposed to jiggles, I just need an excuse to put them there!
