It’s the first “official” episode of ANIPAC. In a nutshell, expect us (not always in the same episode) to discuss:
* Retro gaming/movies
* Anime
* Tales from Asia
* “Classic” AnimePacific Clips
* Miscellaneous Geekery
Shootin’ The Breeze
We discuss the history that contributed in the eventual creation of ANIPAC as well as a slight backstory into how me and Alex met.
How to gauge a douchebag:
It’s easy, if you drive this car, then you are a douchebag! Well, more specifically a slightly bigger, bulkier version of this car that in fact, negates the benefits of actually having a cubed shape car and exists solely for the purpose of being, “cool”.

We also discuss our impressions of the far away, year 2000. Check out the opener for Beyond 2000 which is about 25 seconds into the video.
It’s a wrap!
We’ll be back; we don’t know when; but we’ll be back!

hmm anyone not able to make hide nor hare of Dane’s 4 minute intro?
Obviously Dane put a lot of work into it, but for like the first 3 minutes I can’t understand a thing he is saying. hmmm
Comment by Alex — April 19, 2009 @ 3:38 am
er hair!
But I hope everyone likes the show! And a round of applause to Dane for the editing work.
Comment by Alex — April 19, 2009 @ 4:11 am
Nice to have anipac back on the air guys.
cheers!!
p.s Alex I just watched a docu I think you would really like on the Franklin expo trying to find the North west passage.Really good stuff you can watch the entire thing at this you tube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiKrYuuerAc&feature=channel_page
Comment by regan strongblood — April 19, 2009 @ 6:13 am
Sorry to double post but I must say this was a great episode,love the intro aswell
Comment by regan strongblood — April 19, 2009 @ 11:17 am
Indeed! The intro was good stuff, though there were a few parts I couldn’t understand… As for the rest of the show good work, entertaining as always.
That paleofuture site is pretty interesting stuff, good find Alex! I especially liked seeing those company videos about the future, though none of the ones I watched on that site compare to NTT DoCoMo’s vision of the future: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKchgm9Nslk
Comment by The Root Beer King — April 19, 2009 @ 1:36 pm
The intro was… interesting? From the little that I could understand I figured something died, and was then resurrected in a dark ritual. Possibly “symbolizing” “death” of animepacific and it’s rebirth as anipac? Although world’s manliest podcast was mentioned somewhere in there, so I’m most likely misinterperted the noise.
I suspect part of my problem was listening through a phone speaker outdoors. I will address the issue by listening this episode again on my audiophile-grade system!(which is actually same phone and decent headphones + silence of the night)
Great episode.
I finally know the true reason why the children were crying in the video episode(although it’s still a mystery why Alex was taking photos of them in the first place).
And a little bit in advance, happy birthday Dane!
Comment by Anonymous — April 19, 2009 @ 3:57 pm
oh! The kindergarten staff took pictures of me teaching the kids for their yearbook or something, and gave me copies. I should post the photos, if I can dig them up.
Comment by Alex — April 19, 2009 @ 4:05 pm
Interesting intro Dane. It reminds me of that time I asked you for help with voiceacting for my flash movies. Wich sadly was right before I stopped doing them. Hopefully I’ll get back to that hobby in the not too distant future.
From what I can tell this new podcast is gonna be as good if not better than the old one. I just hope you can record it once a month or something. But it’s not like you’re gonna lose me as a listener if you can’t.
If you ever need any help with something, just ask.

Damn, those are some sexy graphics in that Commodore 64 game!
Comment by The Root Beer King — April 20, 2009 @ 5:27 am
They were certainly revolutionary at the time, and the remake is so faithful to the game. Each pixel lovingly rendered. Let me know if any of you fellows actually play it! Thank you for the kind comments fellows, and Mr. Borky McBorkBork, and anyone else for that matter who can help with this website is welcome to make any modifcations to it and make it look a little cleaner, I’ll give you an admin account!
I think one episode a month should be pretty do-able; I really enjoy talking about a broader subject as well as Anime. Rest assured, Anime WILL still be discussed on the show!
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 20, 2009 @ 6:20 am
If I had an admin account… Could I also post audio recordings on your blog ;P
Comment by BorkyMcBork — April 20, 2009 @ 11:36 am
I don’t see why not!
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 20, 2009 @ 2:25 pm
Before I forget, what’s the music used in the opener/where can I get it?
And I did understend more of the intro on the second time I listened. Apparently evil plant type pokemon was planing to stop all podcasting, but ANIPAC saved the day once again!
Or maybe it was all just a deam..

New episode.YAY! Man,this episode cost me an hours and a half sleep,but who cares,NEW EPISODE! Great episode(episode episode episode,nearly enough….episode) Especially liked the way you did Tales From Asia.
Just on a side note.Did you guys put up a new ‘ani pac’ feed on itunes? I looked around,but I could only find the ‘Anime Pacific’ feed.
Comment by Chippy — April 20, 2009 @ 7:47 pm
What happened to the design of the site. This is way less retro than i imagined
Comment by BorkyMcBork — April 21, 2009 @ 4:44 am
Work in progress, Mr. Borky!
The opening tune is in fact a remix of the R-Type opening music, I have an MP3 of it if you’re interested!
We’re glad you enjoyed it Chippy, and no, we didn’t put a feed up on Itunes; Main reason being that it’s a huge pain in the botom. I can’t even put it up there, myself as there is no Itunes Hong Kong and the whole damn thing is region specific.
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 21, 2009 @ 7:41 am
Thank you, found it myself based on R-Type
Comment by Anonymous — April 21, 2009 @ 9:08 am
Oh wow Dane, I love the new site! Good job!
It is nice not to have a crappy website. We look half way professional now.
Comment by Alex — April 22, 2009 @ 2:17 am
Ahh thank you! It’s a nice “Alex compliment”!
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 22, 2009 @ 6:19 am

Comment by djdrastic — April 23, 2009 @ 5:35 am
Love the new website design! Much better now! My only suggestion is install intense debate for the comments already!
Comment by The Root Beer King — April 23, 2009 @ 2:38 pm
Ah right.Thats cool then,thought I was looking in the wrong place is all. As with everybody else,I’m lovin’ the new design!
Comment by Chippy — April 23, 2009 @ 3:57 pm
Is it even possible to upgrade the comments section? I just assumed that this is the way blogsome is set up, and thats that.
Comment by Alex — April 23, 2009 @ 4:53 pm
@Alex Oh it’s possible alright! And should be done… Seriously, it’s easy to do. http://www.intensedebate.com/
Comment by The Root Beer King — April 24, 2009 @ 4:37 am
Ah never mind, I realized blogsome doesn’t allow you to add your own plug-ins.
Comment by The Root Beer King — April 24, 2009 @ 4:47 am
For those of you who want to know where “Dagobah” is, take a look at this google map link
I believe our old village house (with the ww2 soldiers buried in the basement) is where I marked “B”. But Dane could correct me.
I hope when Dane gets his HD video camera he will post a video of the area, and correct my map.
Comment by Alex — April 24, 2009 @ 4:24 pm
Actually if you look between the Wei Wah Centre building one and the Hilton Plaza you’ll see the walkway that we used to use to get home. That building you’re pointing to is actually a bit too far. The actual building is a little bit hard to see it’s past those trees west-southwest of the trees to the building you’re tagging.
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 25, 2009 @ 2:49 am
Ah, I see what you mean. I saw that walkway across the KCR tracks, but didn’t make out the pathway before. But now that you mention it, I can see it.
So, I think
Comment by Alex — April 25, 2009 @ 9:24 pm
So I think that this is the old house, is that correct?
Comment by Alex — April 25, 2009 @ 9:27 pm
I believe that’s it!
Comment by Dane Scaysbrook — April 26, 2009 @ 12:02 am
After reading the comments in here I realized that a lot of my early listeners came from you guys. Thanks.
Anyway, I’m always happy to find more podcasts in your feed. Frankly, I don’t care what you talk about because the back-and-forth is funny regardless of the topic. Keep it up guys.
Comment by fightbait — May 3, 2009 @ 6:57 am
No problem, Fightbait! I’m glad I can bring more people to your show, I always enjoy it!
