Take a look at this crazy ingame clip from BF1943, thanks to Crispy Gamer. Talk about luck! I am looking foward to giving this game a shot.

Last week the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien did a pretty good bit on Anime, visiting “Manga” the American anime company. They even did a little bit of voice over work for “Ghost in the Shell”. Pretty funny stuff. Also funny was how they had to blur out the breasts, even the animated ones (This was on at 11:30 at night!).

As I am sure most of you know by now, Sam Raimi is set to Direct a World of Warcraft movie.

My first thoughts:
1) Hurrah! A big budget fantasy movie! Not too often we get those. We had Conan in the 80s (Willow too), Lord of the Rings in the 90s, and now Warcraft.
2) Can it possibly be any good? Movies based on video games have a very poor record.
3) It is probably going to be PG. The movie is going to be big budget, and they will want to draw in the teenagers. I know all ages play the game, but a lot of kids do too.
4) Which means, no nudity, no blood! I want gore, boobs and hot chicks in my Warhammer (er I mean ‘Warcraft”) movie darn it. But.. sadly probably wont happen.
5) What does Dane think? He loves fantasy movies and Sam Raimi - Evil Dead (not to mention spiderman!), but dislikes MMRPGs. hmmm does he have mixed feelings?

This is probably old news for most of you, but since I am at the cottage with spotty internet, this was a HUGE find for me…
more Darker than Black coming our way this fall!
This two month old news has me…… very excited! (eh?) (imagine an Alex-doing-Dane-doing-Alex voice impression for that last bit).
Darker than Black is definitely my favorite Anime of the last several years, as I mentioned several times on the Anime Pacific podcast.
Contractors, Hell Gates, double lives, weird terminology, love triangles (sort of… Hei-Li-Misaki, but Misaki is trying to arrest Hei, and is interested in Li, but Li and Hei are the same person). It doesn’t get much better than this. I can’t wait.

Whilst trying to find a way to convert .TOD files in a much easier way, I came across this video. Much to my suprise, it actually made me giggle. Spot the blatant movie piracy going on in the background…
Much like Boris Yeltsin did, I feel inclined to strut my stuff in order to dispel rumours of my imminent demise: at least in podcasting terms. Thus, here is a rather raw, honest account of the last few months of my life and some certain pivotal events. It’s almost completely Anime free. This podcast is also completely heterosexual this time Alex-free this episode. Our trademark attempt at humour is sadly absent this time around. It might not be what you’re used to.
Grab the MP3, here.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE.
Note: I TOTALLY forgot to send Kudos to Jake “The Rootbeer King” of RPG-Lamer fame. I knew I forgot something! Damnit! Extra Kudos coming your way, Jake…
Yahoo Asia reports that three quarters of the South Korean Office workers surveyed were shocked and appauled at being exposed to ample Korean boobie, with “Micro Miniskirts” being the chief complaint. Those poor, struggling souls.
Despite Alex’s claim that I was “up to my neck in diapers” (I would say Nappies, the correct British English way.) That is not really the case. Alex, no doubt recalling past episodes of “Full House” where Uncle Jessie had to take care of the kids by himself (Da Da Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa), probably imagines me, in my delightful San Francisco Townhouse, suavely pushing back my greased, Grecian hair muttering “Have mercy!” each time I have to change a nappy. Were you, the reader, really interested in tales of woe, exhaustion and copious amounts of bodily fluids, you would have asked Alex to recall his experiecnes in boarding school.
In truth, I’ve been ever-so eager to release a new epsiode of ANIPAC; but simply haven’t because Alex set out on an epic holiday from which he has not returned. I could churn out another ANIPAC episode, but a full third? half of our repertoire would be absent, thus I fear it would be devoid of any chemistry or humour. I’m not terribly adept at solo podcasting.
I was thinking of churning out an “Anime Pacific” episode. As any concerns I would have about the relatively young (in episode count) ANIPAC would be negated. Either way, me and Alex will record something in the future of course! It’s just a matter of when.
Now; I’m not really the sort of fellow who genuinely laughs a lot. Although I enjoy comedies, when watching them alone, I literally sit for an hour and a half with a stone cold face. I often ponder as to why this is. Quite often I find myself laughing merely to satisfy the perceived norms that society has conditioned unto us. I call this, “Courtesy laughing”. For the first time in years, I found something that genuinely made me hurt from laughing. A Turkish man, obviously who normally commands some sort of respect, falling off his chair.
I know. Classy. It is a step up from the America’s Funniest Home Videos “I hurt my testicles” and/or “Dog pooed in an inappropriate place/venue”, however. I can live with it.
This too, made me chuckle.
